Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Police stated they were alerted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found many other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials say early analysis show the substance was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for information.

An important official said the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be addressed quickly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of migrant background in February 2020.
